“Safe and Secure” The TGWS transportation system ensures safe and secure commutation to its students and teachers from different parts of Vellore and nearby districts. TGWS owns a fleet of deluxe air-conditioned video coaches fitted with all safety norms. The School has a team of well-trained drivers & helpers, who ensure that students are dropped and picked safely.

Food and Beverages

“Where hospitality gets Translated” The GeeKay World School provides an ultra-modern adequately equipped mechanized dining facility catering to the multiple needs of growing years. Hygiene and quality are rigorously enforced to ensure that students receive adequate nourishment. They are judiciously supervised by their facilitators for eating habits and table etiquette. RO unit is installed catering to adequate, clean water supply. An in-house dietitian plans and monitors all meals keeping in mind the needs of growing children. The food served is on the premise of various cuisines, i.e. Indian, Chinese and Continental. Students may avail the option of vegetarian/non-vegetarian meals cooked in separate kitchen areas, catering to the different taste buds of its students.

Smart Classrooms

“Information Literacy” TGWS classrooms are smart and technology integrated which enable the teachers to incorporate the most modern technology into their pedagogical practices. Moreover, they provide safe and secured atmosphere to the students. Smart Classrooms (Technology Integrated), from Kindergarten to Higher Secondary, have inbuilt teaching modules which include audio-visual aids, power points, pictorial illustrations, quizzes and others. The teachers engage the students in a variety of learning experiences to conceptualize the understanding of the students.

Library

“Beyond Walls, Ahead of Time” The fully furnished air conditioned library at TGWS is a learning centre for students especially with regards to R and R - Research and Referencing. It has over 7,500 books and around 3,500 teacher’s resources. The different sections include: Literature-Poetry, Drama, Fiction,Non-Fiction Classics Science Humanities Mathematics Journals Magazines Dictionaries, Thesaurus and Encyclopedias Films and Music The library also has Digital Library Management system and amalgamates the perfect blend of conventional and unconventional strategies. Book exhibitions, book reviews and reading sessions are conducted, regularly exposing students to good written and reading skills. The reference library which is fully computerized is a treasure trove of information that has been built arduously and continues to grow each year.

Field Trips and Excursions

Educational Field Trips are a part and parcel of the curriculum since the school believes in experiential learning. Leadership Camps and Adventure Camps are specially designed and have been mandated elements of the school vision. Participation in international affairs like Model United Nations has been yet another unique element of the school. Indian International Model United Nation’s Participation was an enthralling one for our Geekains since it provided a platform for expression and experience. Our students proved their mettle in discussing international affairs namely: Security Council-Reforms in the Security Council, Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) Israel-Palestine Conflict, Human Rights Council (HRC) HR Violations in DPRK, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Beyond 2015-Building momentum towards effective sustainable development, United Nation Children Fund (UNICEF) Equitable access to education for children with disabilities, The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) Promoting International cooperation to prevent cyber crimes, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Racial abuse of players and Lok Sabha. Educational Trips and Excursions are productively designed and are integral part of student development at TGWS.

Special Educational Needs

“Touching Minds, Shaping Future, Teaching life” Special Education Needs Department has been functional in school with school counselors in place. The learning disabilities of the students are identified in a timely manner by the facilitators and with the help of the counselor, in-school testing is done and remedial measures are being followed. The cases now under consideration are dyslexia, dysgraphia, hyperactivity; marginal autism etc.The parents play a vital role in these processes. A special learning module for slow learners, are in place which ultimately helps them join the main stream within a short period of time. Differentiated Instruction is something that we strictly follow in our school. Differentiated instruction runs on the maxim that every child is different. Similarly, every adolescent is different. Hence we treat them differently and adopt personalized steps and customize our strategies to tackle his/her specific problems rather than being generic. Counseling is one of the most primitive yet proven strategies that we adopt here at TGWS. Moreover, the feeling that we are there with them is instilled which gives them a lot of courage to open up even at adverse situations. TGWS has professional counselors in school, who co-ordinate the Special Educational Wing, and help in the timely identification and adoption of remedial and preventive measures in the form of counseling, intervention classes and pre-clinical testing. Under the co-ordination of primary counselors, special learning module and classes are progressing in school.
