Physical Education at TGWS stands unique and is closely knitted to the curriculum. It offers a wide range of Sport’s choices to the students under the guidance of professional and experienced coaches. The Sports Coaching at TGWS covers:

Apart from the regular weekly classes integrated into the play school timetable, the students are also given special coaching in selected sports event which helps them identify their strengths and maximize the same. Swimming is a mandated sport offered to all the students from K-12, as a training under Life Skill Orientation.

Skating :

TGWS skating rink stands out in its majesty. Coaching in Skating has been a unique feature at TGWS. Students participate in District, State and National Skating Championships and bring home laurels. Geekains are confident Skaters.

Swimming :

TGWS offers a beautiful stand alone building for accommodating swimming pool of 25 meters. Swimming is a mandated skill which every Geekaian should be learning and is inbuilt in the curriculum.Every class has specific swimming schedule mentioned in the timetable.The swimming instructors and life guards are keen to take care of the safety and learning of the children.

 

Sparta

“The Festival of Sportsmanship”

The Geekay World School organizes its Annual Sports Meet - Sparta, every year. Apart from commemorating champions, Sparta also aims at imparting lessons on sportsman spirit and camaraderie to young Geekains. The Geekay World School Sports Ground visualizes the colourful array of events on both Junior and Senior Sparta in the month of November every year. The spectacular drill performances by the Spartans and an array of races make the event all the more colourful. As the students’ wild cheers rent the air, the athletes - with grit and determination, race to achieve victory and glory for their respective houses. Interspersed among these are mesmerizing and synchronized colorful drills by the students. All the events draw hearty applauses from the crowd, a fitting appreciation for weeks of hard work from teachers and students. TGWS Sparta becomes the talk of the town due to its competitive as well as colorfully spirited nature.

 

Aesthetic Leadership

The Performing Arts and Visual Arts Curriculum at TGWS aims at:

Life through Leadership Activities

“Face to Face with Reality”

Life through leadership activities aim to enhance the leadership skills of students tapping their skills in persuasive communication, oration, creativity and critical thinking, thereby extracting the aesthetic leadership from students.

Every grade will have two activities, each month under life through leadership. Leadership is not only centered on risk taking and problem solving but also largely depends on persuasive communication, oratory skills, creative and critical thinking skills, aesthetic skills, etc. It is not a competition but a set of activities to motivate and enhance different skills among students. Therefore participation of every student is mandatory. Life through leadership is conducted twice in a month in the respective classrooms. All the activities under life through leadership have set rubrics and all the students will be receiving a set of rubrics where evaluation is marked. The winners of the activities receive certificates and points are forwarded to their leadership portfolios. All the participants receive appraisal stickers to encourage their enthusiasm and participation.
