Our Vision

We the educators of St. Ignatius High School, Gumla commit ourselves, to the service of faith and reconciliation, promotion of justice, accompaniment and formation of young people as persons of competence, commitment, conscience and compassion in collaboration and partnership with the staff and the local community and networking with other educators in the creation of hope-filled future to bring about transformation of society.

Our Mission

To achieve the vision, our mission is to accompany and form young people for others, with their academic excellence and sound character, spirit of selfless service and leadership qualities, who will commit themselves to collaborate in the care of our Common Home and build a just and humane society, where genuine freedom, equality of opportunities and respect for religious, moral and social values found in the Gospels and enshrined in the Constitution of India will prevail.

Objectives

To foster creative and collaborative learning environment wherein students of diverse background can develop their unique gifts and build competencies through reflection, service and creation of knowledge.To develop skills of communication and self-study through different co-curricular activities.To arouse in students a sense of social justice, responsibility, compassion, sensitivity and concern for the economically and intellectually poor.To inculcate in the students through courses in Ethics/Religion, basic moral, social and spiritual values necessary for building up character and developing personality.To inculcate respect for others and the religious tolerance by inter-religious prayer service and reflection on special occasion.To instill the constitutional values by daily recitation of the Preamble of the Constitution everyday during school assembly.To bring awareness to care for our Common Home by motivating for tree plantation.To impart education for faith, education for depth, education for reconciliation and education for global citizenship.
