Schooling at the primary level initiates children to build upon their existing knowledge and enthusiasm for continued learning. As they progress through this stage we witness in action their exploratory spirit and quest for knowledge, motivated by the love of learning that they have imbibed.
At this level, the emphasis is on the learning and understanding of concepts through a curriculum that is engaging and relevant, yet challenging. Our primary curriculum reflects these changing needs of young learners and is designed to be age appropriate and progressive in nature. The various activities offered enable children to explore their multiple talents.

Features

• Children are encouraged to develop good study habits in order to effectively cope with the breadth of content covered and the evaluation system, at the primary school level.
• The learning process in the early stages of the primary school makes use of recreational resources and activity driven approaches like illustration of concepts through projects,
  models, charts, visuals, multi- media, field trips, and so on to strengthen their knowledge base.
• Children are intiated into reading story books, newspapers and magazines with an emphasis on activity – centred learning through a structured reading programme involving individuals as well as groups.
• At this stage, the emphasis is on experiential learning through learn by doing method.
• A scientific temper is developed through experimentation, observation, analysis, drawing inferences and discovery.
  * The curriculum focuses on developing children`s counting skills and reasoning ability, leading to the development of primary mathematical concepts.
• Special emphasis is given on acquiring sound language skills through active reading and listening programmes, and development of creative and artistic expression.
• Through educational excursions and field trips, children are exposed to new realms of knowledge and learning experiences.
• Children are introduced to new learning experiences and challenges through graded exercises, work sheets, group learning, group projects and assignments.
• Children are provided opportunities to learn music, dance, painting and flok art to develop multiple intelligence.
• Children`s creative talents is nurtured through participation in a variety of co – curricular and extra – curricular activities and events.
• Spirit of service to community is instilled in children by developing empathy and compassion
• Children are encouraged to learn attributes of responsible citizenship and civic values.
• The primary school curriculum gives special emphasis on introducing amongst children crucial digital skills which would help enhance student engagement and competencies.
