Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chhan, Tonk was inaugurated on 20.07.1988 in a temporary building in Ameerpur Kheda. The First Principal of the school was Dr Vashishtha Sharma. The school was shifted to its present location on 16.10.1989. Till 1992 the school had mini migration from other JNVs. Science stream for class XII started in 1995-96 and Humanities in 1996-97.
