Lower Nursery, Upper Nursery & Kindergarten

IEM Public SCHOOL provides a warm ,caring, stimulating and challenging environment in which your child learns and develops. Children of lower nursery, upper nursery and k.g. eagerly participate in various classroom activities like writing, tracing of alphabets using tabs and via smart class. We use aural and audio-visual aids in our teaching system that helps to enhance the concept of phonetic sounds.

Various craft work like thumb printing, palm printing, cotton dabbing, greetings card making and rakhi making are undertaken under the supervision and guidance of our craft teacher. We try to amalgamate nature study with classroom study so that the students can relate with the topics that are taught in the class.

Different approaches like the montessori method, the play way method, the show

and tell method, and the demonstration method are followed by our pre-primary teachers.

We use Montessori apparatus in the class which helps in the sensory and as well as the motor skill development of the children. Action based learning is given due importance as it provides a clear concept of ideas taught in the class and makes learning more absorbing for the children.

We believe in the holistic development of the children so equal importance is given to co-curricular activities like dance, music, taekwondo, roller skates, craft, P.T. as well.

Class I & Class II

Learning through playing is the main motto that we follow in IEM Public School. We focus on the principles of teaching english language, which forms the basic foundation of every child. Listening, reading, speaking and writing are the four core areas that we usually focus on.

We ensure that your child is able to read with precision and accuracy. Stress is given on the intonation and pronunciation of the students.

Story telling with props and flash cards and story reading are encouraged which helps to develop a palpable passion for reading among the students.

We employ various teaching aids like flannel board and reading board which develops the children to develop their speaking skills.

We make an earnest effort to incorporate the project method in our curriculum of E.V.S., Maths, and I.T. which enables your child to work independently as they are assigned to work on the topics given to them.

Various workshops on mathematics are conducted in class which involves active participation of the students. This helps them to have a clear concept on the basic operations that forms the foundation of number work.

Field trips or educational trips are often conducted to wipe off the monotony and to add a fun element to their curriculum. Co-curricular activities like p.t., taekwondo, roller skates, dance, music, craft are given equal importance.

To put it in a word, we seek to provide an environment which enriches the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and physical development of your child.

Teaching - learning approach and methodology

Through an effective lesson plan approach- the twin objective of learning-teaching is fulfilled. Apart from general principles and pedagogy, classroom instruction is well formulated with both teacher-centered (lecture method, formal expertise, personal model, and instructions) to student-centered (active participation, inquiry based-learning and cooperative learning, kinesthetic learning) approach of learning.

Peer tutoring technique, as well as live specimens in subjects such as Science, is used. High tech approach to learning utilizes various modes of technology to aid the students in the form of smart classes, computers, whereby audio-visuals are used.

Expeditionary learning through projects and group activities and participation in hands-on experience ensures that the students are able to apply knowledge learned in the classroom to the real world, rather than learning through the virtual world.

Classroom environment

In stimulating creativity, playful games, warm-up activities, incorporation of audio-visuals, through movies, pictures, infographics, mind mapping and brain mapping tools, infusion of real world experiences into the instructions, brainstorming sessions, role play, storyboard teaching not only play an innovative role in the introduction of new concepts and subjects such as english Lab where the students hone confidence-building skill and learn the art of public speaking but also gives the students freedom to explore the world of learning with fun. The classrooms are well decorated with vibrant charts on the board- maps, theme of month chart, birthday charts, performance chart, language corner, mathematics and science corner and drawings pinned on them which engages a student’s mind in helping them think and learn better.
