Kalamkari Painting

Kalamkari is an ancient textile craft of India. It is traditionally hand painted or block printed on cotton fabric with vegetable dyes.

Objective
  • The main objective of the research is to experiment with the prints in hand painted kalamkari that will attract and please the younger generation.
  • To understand the history and evolution of hand painting.
  • To understand the areas in which kalamkari is used.
  • To create a range of new age prints.
  • To generate interest amongst the disinterested younger generation.

Nirmal Painting

Nirmal painting is a popular form of paintings done in Nirmal district former Adilabad district, Telangana, India.

Objective
  • Develop a working concept of what it means to be an artist and create paintings.
  • Reinforcing the principles of traditional painting skills.
  • Developing new ways of thinking, seeing, and creating nirmal painting on cloth and chart.

Ornament Making

Man has always loved to be adorned with jewels. This led to jewellery developing as an industry. Jewellery is an ornament, for personal adornment. Jewellery, earlier, was made for practical uses such as pinning of clothes together. Nowadays it is used not only for decoration but is also considered as a status symbol.

Objective
  • To enlighten the need, scope and importance of the ornaments.
  • To understand the different techniques, materials used in ornament making.
  • To recognize types and styles of ornaments.

Mask Making

Mask making is a rewarding and creative process. It is an absorbing activity that helps focus children to task in hand.

Objective
  • Children will learn about masks made by people from different world cultures and their purpose.
  • Understands how masks can be used to represent an animal, character, mythical creature, or natural element.
  • Explore the process of designing an armature and a mask using papier-mache.
  • To use their imagination to create artwork; to demonstrate motor skills by colouring, cutting, and assembling and to show how wearing a mask can help one relate to someone else.

Kite Making

As part of the lesson, “The Kite” the poem, the students of Grade 6 prepared the kite in the school. Guided by Ms. Sugandhini D the students flew the kite and enjoyed the hands-on, minds-on learning experience. The teaching methodology was based on experiential learning, where the student interest, creativity, and enthusiasm to learn were highlighted. The outcome of the activity was to understand what makes a kite fly high, integrated with science too.

Mono-Acting

Mono acting is an art form which evolves both acting and intelligence.

Objectives-

  • To help build confidence and effective communication skills.
  • To engine great qualities of Kannada rulers and regional leaders.

Outcome- An activity that promoted dialogue delivery, confidence and composure on stage its fullest potential. There was much of inspiration drawn from each of participant as they portrayed the characters.

Fancy Dress Competition

Fancy Dress competition was an individual activity conducted for grade 1 and 2.

Objectives-

  • To give them a chance to know various historical characters of Karnataka.
  • An equal opportunity for all the pupil to develop confidence, explore the stage and speak before the audience.

Outcome - The young participants dressed up as various characters like Kitturu Rani Channamma, Madakari Nayaka, Onake Obavva, Akkamahadevi, Kuvempu, Jhansi Rani Lakshmi Bai, BharataMata etc.Children spoke about their character they depicted. Students looked confident and gave their best of their performance.
