Physical fitness, imparted through P.T. classes and team sports form an important part of educational experience in TashiNamgyal Academy. The school aims to provide a strong academic, sports and co-curricular activities effectively delivered through well-equipped and modern facilities.TNA has an excellent sports infrastructure with a well turfed football field, a modern basketball court, a volleyball court, athletics tracts, indoor badminton court, a table tennis room, a well-equipped gym and it is the only school in Sikkim to have a proper swimming pool at this altitude.TNA has a long-drawn history in sports and our sports culture continues till date and would further improve in the future years. T.N.A. is well known for representing the state as well as the nation in various sports ranging from taekwondo, swimming to football at regular occasions. The alumni of the tenacian family work at professional level in sports at national and international level. The most notable and well-known alumni is the Arjuna Awardee Mr BhaichungBhutia who is considered as the epitome of the rise of Indian Football. The students are very talented and have been wining laurels in the national and international competitions. The school also organizes yearly inter-house track and field sports event called the Mini-Olympics that aims to promote international sports and instil a feeling of sportsmanship among students.Sports form an important part of school as it teaches various skills to students like leadership, patience, team effort and social skills. TNA has rightly understood this and has given equal importance to sports as that to academics and focuses on the overall development of the students.
