CURRICULUM

SSVM School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE Affiliation No. 930491) and English is the medium of instruction.

The Academic year at SSVM School consists of two terms:

1st Term from June 1 to October 31, and

2nd Term from November 1 to March 31.

English is the medium of instruction and all efforts are made to ensure that students are proficient in languages.

We also have Educomp 'smartclasses' a digital teaching system that has been adopted by over 6,500 progressive schools in India. It transforms the way teachers teach and students learn in school by making learning an enjoyable process .

At Play

Games at SSVM are played with much enthusiasm and passion. There is emphasis on regular exercise and physical fitness. All games are supervised by masters. Team spirit

and the desire to give the best possible performance are our 'manthra'.

Well trained coaches come to the school to coach the pupil, and the last years has witnessed a tremendous improvement in the techniques and performance of our students.

Cricket, Football are seasonal sports. Badminton, basketball, hand ball, swimming and athletics are also built into the calendar. The students who are selected for the School team represent the school at various meets, CBSE Sahodayameets, invitational competitions held in various schools, District, State levels (if selected). The school team also occasionally tours to play friendly matches and gain valuable experience and exposure.

Extra Curricular Activities

At SSVM School, our students learn very early to focus, prioritize and effectively juggle preparations for their upcoming class tests, train for various games, and allocate time for the quiz competition they have registered for, as well as practise the violin for the music competition!

Our students take pride in a job well done, however small it may be. The school provides a wealth of opportunities for extracurricular activities. Students find their niche and at the same time enjoy exploring uncharted domains. In the process, without being them aware of it, a different aspect of their personality emerges and is honed.

Dance

We have got a team of expert techers and professionals to handhold the interested pupil through different walks of dance like Clssical, Folk and Group performance in the initial stage.

With the help of our expert panel of professionals we continuously fine tune the talents of our students so as to present them for perfoming their skills in various occasions.

Music

We have got a well experienced team of professionals to find and groom young talents interested in various musical activities.

Either its Vocal or Instrumental, we have got the right mix of team to fine tune and make the rhythm perfect.

Apart from bringing honours to the school by way of winning awards in various Interschool Music Competitions, the children enjoy their everyday music classes, which is a welcome relaxation for them.

Visual Arts

At SSVM, we take Visual Arts as an ongoing activity in the school for breaking th monotony of classroom studies as well as to induce a feeling of self creativity and thereby building a feeling of self confidence in students. Visual Arts like Painting, Drawing, Sculpture helps in the development of the overall creativity of students.

Karate

At SSVM, we recommend all the parents to join their children in Karate class not only as a self defence art but to enhance their confidence and concentration to the next level.

While our pupil enjoy their time with Karate masters learning new skills in self defence, they are developing themselves Discipline, Self Respect and Respect for Others.

Games

We treat games and other sports activities as a part and parcel of curriculum, to relieve our children from the stress of studies, to entertain them to refresh their minds, to motivate them to aim hgh.

We have got excellent outdoor facilities for different types of games. Our children used to enjoy their time in Cricket, Badminton, Foot Ball, Carrom, Chess etc.

Swimming

At SSVM we take swimming not as a mere sports activity, but we understand the importance of it as a life saving skill everybody should learn.

There is exclusive swimming lessons for all pupil, who are physically fit for the same. We implement this as a certified course from the Directorate of Sports and Youth affairs in association with Higher Secondary School Muthukulam.

Athletics

Sports is an integral part of the school day and the pupils look forward to this time when they can be with friends and have fun, as well as learn about fair play, sharing sportsmanship and team spirit.

We have a variety of sports activities so that students from all age groups can enjoy, participate and keep fit. We have outstanding coaches who train the students on how to beat the opposition with skill and good sportsmanship. Inter-House and Inter-School matches are a common feature in our school. Many of our students and teams excel in sports at the Sahodaya level sports meet.
