OUR LADY OF MERCY SCHOOL, AROOR, CHERTHALA - 688534

Mission

The Mecedarian mission is to save the people from the slavery of social evils that is presently seen in the society. We enlighten the children to fight against evils and sow the seed of love and compassion in the campus, in the family and in the society. Every child is looked after with utmost care not only in their education but also in their character formation. Special attention is given to children who are financially insecure and they find a space in school with free education. We teach the children to dream and all facilities are provided to fulfill their dreams.

As teaching is a divine profession all our staffs are with divine qualities touching everyone’s heart with love and compassion and bring about the best in them. The children are given training in arts, sports, curricular and co-curricular activities. Every year the students, staff, parents and the management stretch out their merciful hands to the homeless of the society by building a house for them. All the activities in the campus and off the campus is to inculcate into them the mercifulness of God, the Father. The children are the citizens of tomorrow and they will change the world with their merciful love.

Aims and Objectives

The School continues to articulate an integrated, coordinated and consistent curriculum within each grade level, across grade levels, and across departments.

The task of developing a consistent, coherent, evolving curriculum is primarily given to the teachers and they are given adequate training programme to cope up with the new trend in education. Administrators lead and facilitate this process.

The School aim to integrate classroom learning with student's experiences outside of class. This is the focus of advisory, homeroom, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. In addition, every faculty member accepts responsibility for balancing social, psychological and emotional growth with academic learning.

The School continues to value and support economic, geographic, ethnic, cultural, racial and religious diversity among students and faculty. To this end, scholarships, special course offerings and mentoring opportunities are offered to both students and faculty.

The School addresses issues such as environmental degradation, violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and positive gender and racial relationships as an integral part of the program. Community service programs and a number of student clubs focus on linking the School to the larger community.
