Infrastructure

Spread over 4000 sqft, NIS is equipped with all safety measures to provide children plenty of room for free movement. An open play area spread with green mats, a wide sand pit, slide, etc., welcomes the child and tickles their mood. Each classroom is equipped with educational aids which generate creativity and the myriad activities are carefully selected to be age appropriate and stimulating. Montessori materials and methods are integrated. Based on the idea of learning through the senses, these materials ignite the mind. Interactive white board activities are further incorporated as needed. Together, the NIS infrastructure for the little child is beautifully arranged to provide a rich, carefree, warm and inviting environment for every child.

Class Room

Spacious classrooms and free play and activity zones are designed such that every student gets the teacher's maximum individual attention while enabling the teacher to conduct group learning sessions. In addition to the regular class rooms there are a number of other rooms like the Student resource center, Audio-Visual room, Art and Craft rooms to facilitate better learning.

Faculty

“A cook is more important than a manager in a hotel “... so are the teachers in a school. So we take a lot of care in selecting and entrusting the responsibilities of the kid to the teachers. Teachers at NIS are graduate & B.Ed. They are duly trained by GCPL experts either at school or out of state. They are also sent to attend national and international seminars and training sessions on Montessori hands on practices; class room put ups, conducting assembly, classroom handling and analysis of child’s psychology. This extensive training from school brushes up the teachers to put on their thinking caps to come out with lot of innovative & child friendly methods to make the teachers students relationship & teaching learning process sound & interesting. Teachers have good moral background & good command over English. They are also well versed in computer education & can efficiently handle the online diagnosis report card making on the respective classes.

Library

The main resource Centre for the students and the faculty at NIS will be the state-of-the-art Library. The vast collection, will be mainly comprised of textbooks, reference books, fiction titles, periodicals and audio-visual material like CDs and VCDs. Separate areas house the collection of syllabus-based textbooks (according to classes), fiction titles (primary and secondary) as also periodicals and audio visual materials. In addition, a vast collection of titles includes Encyclopaedias, dictionaries; atlases, thesaurus etc. are available to the students and the teachers for their day-to-day teaching and assignment work. The Library houses a Teachers resource section for preparing the study material and worksheets.

English Language Lab

The Language lab will encourage the children to hone their Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, LSRW, skills. The Language lab will also serves as a reading corner and students will be encouraged to do a book review of a few lines after reading. The language laboratory will be used to practice extempore speaking and communicative English skills, develop confidence, body language and personality.

Computer Lab

Computer Aided teaching sessions hold a special place at NIS, Dibrugarh, which give our students the winning edge in a competitive world. Students have the pleasure of learning various topics with the help of computers. A research-oriented approach is encouraged and frequent analysis of projects helps students to orient themselves with the rapidly changing requirements of the world outside.

The Math Lab

A well-equipped Math Lab at NIS, Dibrugarh will provide students with the opportunity to have fun with numbers. It will create a challenging atmosphere for students to put their mathematical abilities to test and enhance their analytical reasoning and lateral thinking through various games and activities. We will instill and develop the observation skills among students to derive formulae. In the Math Lab, games will be organized, models will be made, quizzes will be conducted and projects will be exhibited. Thus, the complete learning process will be done through practical means. Experiments will be done based on the concepts dealt in the syllabus. Various kits will be designed and they will be used to derive the formulae.

Health Checkup

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”.....but in NIS we do call a panel of reputed doctors for the annual health check up of the students as we all know “Health is Wealth”. A well organised session with Doctors from various departments, like Dental, Medicine & Paediatrician are invited for the annual health camp conducted in our school premises.
