Our School

Miranda House was established in 1991. The Principal of the school is Mrs. R. Tandon. Her devotion and hard work has resulted in the school spreading its branches across North Calcutta:

With over 28 years of experience, the school has set a high standard in child development and education. Years of experience has helped us specialize in dealing with the multifarious needs of the children.
Knowing that no two children are alike, we provide for training where the different needs of children are dealt with individually.
The school has a combination of Montessori and Play way method of teaching which is interwoven with the latest and modern teaching appliances. Our concept based teaching helps us satisfy the inquisitive mind of a child. Emphasis is given on teaching the children proper presentation skills and general manners. Special care is taken to prepare the child for interview in different schools.
The School has convent educated, Montessori trained teachers. The teacher student ratio ranges from is 1:5 to 1:8, depending on the age group of the child. The teachers are well trained and efficient at handling children, whose age group ranges from 18 to 36 months.
The school believes in working towards the main goal, i.e. to inculcate good values of life, so that the children grow up to be wonderful human beings. Dance (Indian & western), Music, Drawing, Karate, Computer, Abacus and Smart English classes are held for both the students and ex-students. Educational tours, Picnic, Summer party, Summer Camp, Annual school Concert- VIBRANTS, Winter Carnival, Annual Sports, Puppet Show, Magic Show, Ventriloquism, Children’s day and Mother’s day are some of the celebrations held at the school.
The celebration of all special days, festivals and seasons helps broaden the child’s perspective. The craft classes help the child develop a creative bend of mind. Regular interactive sessions with the teachers help the parents keep themselves updated with the child’s progress and his/her areas of interest.
