Co-curricular Activities

Extra-curricular activities are defined as those activities which are not the components of academic curriculum but an integral part of educational environment. Extra-curricular activities comprise sports, games, singing, music, debate, dance, drama, social services, etc. Schools can play a pivotal role by channelizing energy of both normal as well as physically challenged students into a fruitful direction of personality development through extra-curricular activities. The main motto of extra-curricular activities is personality development. These are the activities which promote students to take up their study in a healthy manner. All-round development as well as intellectual development is not the domain of curriculum, these characteristics can be judiciously fulfilled by co-curricular activities. Extra-curricular activities on resume put a positive notion before the interviewers. Insertion of extra-curricular activities on resume strengthen your bio-data when you lack adequate work experience.

ARCHERY

Archery has many transferable skills which can be linked in with Citizenship lessons or Life Skills and Personal Development programme.. Some of the skills archery promotes include: self-discipline, mental arithmetic, staying calm under pressure, cooperation, following instructions, working individually and as part of a team. In order to take part in an archery session, students must adhere to strict safety guidelines, which encourage personal responsibility and consideration of the safety of others. Furthermore, involvement in active, structured activities with tangible outcomes has been shown to promote self-esteem and emotional well-being in short-term and longer-term projects.

RIFLE SHOOTING

Practicing target-shooting sport requires focused attention and motoric steadiness. A previous non-controlled pilot study suggests that children with impairing symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) benefit from participating in target-shooting sport in local shooting associations, as rated by parents and teachers. Target-shooting sport may be regarded as mental training, where the participant uses breathing techniques to calm down and focus, and thereby improves attention. Mind and body must be in complete balance during practice. These techniques are somewhat similar to those used in meditation
