PRE NURSERY- TODDLER PROGRAM - (15 MONTHS – 22 MONTHS)

We believe that toddlers learn the best being active and getting engaged in sensory experiences. Talking, climbing, and exploring is the most enjoyed by them. We focus on toddler’s growth, self-esteem, and develop natural curiosity by developing unique skills, interests, and strengths. We encourage them by exploring, discovering while supporting their growing independence. We encourage little ones to express thoughts and feelings by developing relationships with others and a lifelong learning of love. This educational approach allows developing skills in communication and empathy socially. We provide endless opportunities for toddlers to learn and play in an inviting, age-appropriate, and safe environment. At Gurusthanam, toddlers develop a variety of skills, including physical, speech, social-emotional, cognitive, self-help, and gross and fine motor. Our experts recommend a balance diet for good health. This will ensure your children are getting all the nutrients they need to excel.

The skills are integrated through Montessori and different conventional methodology including music, art, table toys, movement, games, puzzles, and books. A daily schedule meets the needs with both structure and flexibility. Although teachers attend to individual needs, the group or whole class experience is a very important aspect of our program. By continually listening, talking, and describing actions to our toddlers, we help enhance vocabulary, expand expressive language skills, develop self-esteem, and increase awareness.

NURSERY PROGRAM (23 MONTHS – 32 MONTHS)

Our Nursery program is focused on satisfying the curiosity of these young children; in addition to provide plenty of opportunity for active play; we support growing independence by providing opportunities while doing classroom activities independently; putting things away, having food & milk, washing hands, and choosing materials as per their choice of colours.Simple experiments and play-based instructions teach them about nature and technology as they hone their thinking and language skills.

We develop an emerging awareness of social empathy and expand their world beyond the home to the school community. We provide opportunities to increase a child’s ability to communicate by developing active listening and expressive language skills through shlokas, rhymes, songs etc. Throughout the day children make self-directed (but carefully guided choices), participate in small groups, take part in circle time, which builds the confidence needed to explore. The introduction to languages and Math is encouraged. Children enjoy free play to allow creativity and imagination to flourish. Thematic units are developed to encourage children to investigate new skills and ideas.

A consistent approach and an encouraging environment are given for successful toilet training, supporting both children and their families with care and concern to help accomplish this important milestone with pride.

LKG -PRESCHOOL PROGRAM (33 MONTHS – 39 MONTHS)

Lower Kindergarten kids are full of wonders. This is an exciting time for these young learners, who are changing physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally. We nurture every child to work hard together to enable them to develop their full potential through play in a loving, caring environment. Days are filled with busy explorations, investigations, and discoveries. Children express themselves through art, music, and movement. This involves providing opportunities for children to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control, and movement. Children are also helped to understand the importance of physical activity, and to make healthy choices in relation to food. They practice math and number concepts using age-appropriate materials to organize, sort, count, build, and sequence. They explore the world of science through weather, fire less cooking, and seasonal activities. They develop motor skills and coordination in the indoor and outdoor while running, jumping, hopping, skipping, throwing, and catching, playing with sand, tricycles, trampoline and many more.

We also explore our local surroundings and community as and when required.

Children are given access to a wide range of reading materials (books, poems, and other written materials) to ignite their interests on different curricular themes. Due to this, children begin to develop a rich vocabulary and use language on a daily basis.

They discover a new way to express themselves both in words and ideas. This allows their social world to expand even further. Their each & every day is filled with making meaning of every learning opportunity encountered at GURUSTHANAM.

UPPER-KG PROGRAM (40 MONTHS – 48 MONTHS)

The Upper Kindergarten program is designed to encourage kids to be imaginative, energetic, enquiry-based learners who explore the classroom environment with curiosity and purpose. It involves giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves; and to speak and listen in a range of situations.

Experienced teachers plan thematic units in math which involves providing children with opportunities to develop and improve their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems; and to describe shapes, spaces, and measures. We enable children to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials, as well as providing opportunities and encouragement for sharing their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of activities in Environmental Science, art, music, movement, dance, role-play, and design and technology.

Test prep activities are embedded in the curriculum to prepare our students to take the exams for admission to Junior School programs. We promote learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.

We guide children to make sense of their physical world and their community through opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology and the environment.
