The road to freedom and success begin in the classroom.’ Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, Durgapur was established in the year 1975 at Gurudwara Jagat Sudhar, Benachity with only 50 students to help young learners develop a passion for learning and find a path to purpose. The school was shifted to its present position in the year 1977, inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab Shri Prakash Singh Badal. The school has grown over the years in stature and fame with the dedicated efforts and selfless services of the Founder Chairman Late Sardar Prithpal Singh Ji, Founder General Secretary Late Sardar Man Singh Samsher Ji, First Principal of the school, Sardar Satpal Singh Ji, other esteemed Trustee members and all the staff members of the school. The school has also consistently received the active support of the local Sikh Sangat in its way to success. The school believes that a change for good is the end result of true learning and thus commits to provide education to all irrespective of race, creed, gender and social status.
