Primary Curriculum

The primary curriculum of ours is child centric. It helps to develop child’s potential and encourage a love towards learning. Our primary level education is embedded with values that cater the different needs of individual children.

The curriculum includes subjects like English, Kannada, Hindi, Math, Science and SST. The assessment in primary school is to check the child’s learning progress across the curriculum. The teacher uses different tools and techniques to gather evidence about the learning progress on an ongoing basis.

Co-curricular activities like music, dance, skating, abacus, art & craft, karate, aerobics, spell test, competitions, debates and drama sessions offer moral, spiritual, emotional, aesthetic, social and physical values to the students.

Throwing a light to the quote a strong mind in a strong body we give importance to our physical fitness through sports. We introduce different sports activities during primary education. This helps them to be self disciplined and confident individuals.

Middle School Curriculum

In the middle school years, our curriculum focuses on helping students to become independent learners. We emphasize on the development of curious scientific mind with intellectual thought process.

In grades 6-8 we help our students to deepen their knowledge and skills in subjects like English, Kannada, Hindi, Math, Science and SST. We lead them to the competitive world through a strong foundation of General knowledge with current affairs.

Our curriculum framework helps students to be interested and engaged with academics and co-curricular activities. The projects given are capable to apply learning to the real world, inculcate interest in subjects and learn the concepts in a meaningful way. The assessments are done where they can use their learning to demonstrate mastery of each concept.

Physical fitness is considered equally important to mental fitness. At CIS, we stress on physical education and encourage children to pick up multiple sports. These activities provide a platform for a child to acquire leadership skills and help to shape their character.

Co-curricular activities are also imbibed in our curriculum which includes music, dance, yoga, abacus, art & craft, skating, karate, aerobics, school sports teams, clubs like math, science, literacy and heritage, spell test, competitions, debates and drama sessions. All these activities offer supplementary and complementary instruction and education for our students.

The strong link between our scholastic and co-scholastic activities help children to build their confidence, self esteem and to develop time management and organizational skills.

Secondary School Curriculum

With the first eight years of the education focusing on the development of curious minds, our Secondary School Curriculum provides students a broad and balanced understanding of subjects including languages (Kannada/Hindi), Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Information Technology & Applications to enable them to communicate effectively, analyse information as well as make informed decisions that are in line with constitutional values which will ensure their ability move ahead towards being productive citizens.

Only a healthy child can learn effectively and good health leads to better learning. Many activities are necessary for development of the affective and psychomotor domain. Our curriculum includes activities such as Music, Art and Craft, Poetry, Dancing, Singing, Quizzing, Skating, Karate and Debating.

These out of class activities would lead to the holistic development of the child as well as form a synchronization of emotional, social, moral, cultural and aesthetic aspects of the individual. A sense of competitiveness and enthusiasm would strengthen the meaning of curricular activities at school. Also, the fact that learning new skills can help children build their confidence, become more well-rounded people, and develop interests that could potentially lead them to careers they enjoy.

In order to assess the learning progress of students, our curriculum uses various methods such as collaborative or individual projects, and assessments that are relevant to particular learning outcomes. This would not only help the child in the upliftment of grades, but would also make the child to critically appreciate the concepts learnt

Physical fitness is equally important for a child to have a stress-free academic journey. Outdoor Sports, Self-defence training and related activities would help a child to not only build his personality but to also shape his organizational and leadership skills.
