Champaka Academy® is the educational initiative of Champaka Educational and Cultural Trust®, founded in 2006 by Smt. Nagalakshmi P.K. and her husband Sri. Nagarajan Srinivasan, with the aspiration to impart high quality academic and cultural education to children.

Smt. Nagalakshmi is an engineering graduate and has worked in the IT industry. She quit her job to raise her own kids, during which she developed many innovative ways to teach her own children. She took up the initiative to start Champaka Academy® to further pursue her passion to teach and enable children at tender ages, through the innovative methods she had developed. She believes each child is unique and hence teaching in Champaka Academy® is targeted for each child based on specific strengths and needs of the child. The academy takes a holistic approach towards development of each child, through an activity centre that imparts skills apart from academics. Nagalakshmi is also an accomplished danseuse and teacher with a master degree in Bharatanaytam.

Nagarajan Srinivasan is an entrepreneur and a former corporate executive with over two and a half decades of experience in Information Technology and Education. In his corporate avatar, he was a senior executive and the Head of Infosys Mysore Development Centre. He was also the Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mysore Zone, in 2013-14. He is passionate about education and has been involved in various initiatives through Champaka Academy® as well as other forums. He is currently incubating startups in the field of Education.
