The Bapuji Educational Association(BEA), Davangere is one of the oldest and most Prestigious one in Karnataka celebrating its Golden Jubilee. BEA came into existance in 1958 with a purpose of catering to the needs of those who aspired for education. The Association has carved a niche for itself attracting students not only from India but across the Globe. Deeply inspired by the ideals and motivated by the father of nation "Mahatma Gandhi" or "Bapuji" as he was fondly referred to by millions, the Association was named after him and has committed itself to spread his philosophy of reaching the needy. BEA has now grown into a giant tree with more than 55 Institutions under its arms disseminating knowledge right from Nursery to Post Graduate Courses, from Diploma to Engineering, Management, Nursing to Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Colleges. The evolution of the association has led to the significant growth of Davangere educationally which is now aptly regarded as Oxford of Karnataka. The most significant of all the personalities responsible for the allround development of this family Dr. Shamanur Shivashankarappa, the present Hon. Secretary of the Association.
