The school was started by Late Dr.(Mrs.) Kamala Ghosh, the founder Principal of the school, as a primary school in 1968 in Jodhpur Park. The school was then known as Aunty Edith School. Later, the school was renamed A.K. Ghosh Memorial School in memory of her late husband Sri A.K.Ghosh the founder president of the school, and was shifted to its present premises at Lake Gardens.
